GPRS Performs Rebar Locate
in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Denver was called to perform a reinforcement locate within a CMU wall in Steamboat Springs, CO. The property had been victim of a fire and structural engineers were desiring to know the spacing of vertical rebar within the concrete block wall. The concrete imaging process was quickly able to determine not only what cells were grouted but where the reinforcement was located as well. Data was marked directly on the surface of the CMU wall in Steamboat Springs.

While on site the technician was able to give the engineers more helpful information about the structure of the building by doing another ground sonar scan on the foundation.  The GPR data showed where the column hit the basement floor that the concrete was greater in thickness. This showed the engineers what size pier was poured below the column.

Ground Penetrating Radar is frequently used to investigate concrete pours, rebar spacing, and more. GPRS would be happy to map the location of rebar in Denver, locate tendons prior to core drilling in Colorado Springs, locate underground utilities prior to excavation in Grand Junction and determine the location of electrical conduits before saw cutting in Kansas City.
