GPRS Clears Holes for Skylight Installations at Auraria Campus – Greenwood Village, Colorado 1

GPRS of Denver was called out to locate reinforcement and conduits at Auraria Campus’s south classroom for GH Phipps of Greenwood Village Colorado. The customer was cutting holes in the floor to install plumbing and electrical lines. They were also cutting holes in the ceiling slab to install sky lights. The contractor wanted to make sure the area was clear of conduits by using GPR before concrete cutting the ceiling for the sky lights. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was able to mobilize to clear these holes for cutting.

The technician on site was quickly able to locate reinforcement and any electrical lines using ground penetrating radar. Because this was an active job site, on an active campus, concrete imaging was a great alternative to traditional x-ray. Sonar does not emit any kind of harmful radiation. GPRS is the new way to x-ray.

In addition to our rebar locating capabilities in Denver, we offer other nondestructive services. They include locating post tension cables in Boulder, concrete thickness testing in Aurora, utility locating in Colorado Springs, and underground storage tanks (UST) in Fort Collins. To schedule a survey call local regional manager Adam Rock at 303.775.8270.
