Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. of Denver, CO was contacted by The Weitz Company in Denver Ranch, Colorado to locate post-tensioned cables. GPRS was needed to scan and locate reinforcement with depths prior to chipping concrete to move shower drains over. GPRS mobilized to locate conduit and rebar with a GSSI 1600 MHz. antenna.
All findings were marked directly on the surface at the customer’s request for easy interpretation with black permanent marker. GPR was needed for this job to inform the customer where they can safely chip the concrete without breaking a PT cable. Ground Penetrating Radar was successful for an accurate layout of rebar and conduit.
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems use safe and cost effective methods to conduct GPR investigations. Ground Penetrating Radar is safe to be around while concrete imaging is taking place, emitting no radiation unlike concrete x-ray. GPRS can perform concrete imaging investigations on large or small areas to locate post-tension cables, rebar, underground storage tanks, pipes and conduits.
