Locating PT cables
Ralph L Carr Justice Center Project - Denver, Colorado

Locating PT cablesGround Penetrating Radar Systems of Denver recently was called to assist in locating the exact path of Post Tension Cables in a concrete wall. Mortenson Construction of Denver, Colorado needed to core through a post tensioned wall in order to set up the shoring system. The technician on site was able to mark out the path of the PT-Cables that were within the wall. The walls were discovered to have two layers of rebar and also the cables. An experienced technician will be able to distinguish the difference between the cables and rebar in concrete.

This jobsite was in an active area of Downtown Denver and it was crucial that no streets, sidewalks or job-sites were shut down due to the radiation of a concrete x-ray in Denver. A GPR scan in Denver was the only way that made sense to locate the tendons in the concrete wall. GPR emits no radiation during the concrete imaging process. GPRS of Denver can perform a survey of this sort in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fort Collins, Greeley, Trinidad and Grand Junction Colorado. Please contact GPRS of Denver with any questions you may have at 303.945.5415 or jason.schaff@gp-radar.com.
