Ground Penetrating Radar Systems Locates Post Tension Cables - Centennial, Colorado

GPRS was recently contacted by Casson Duncan of Centennial Colorado to locate post tension cables. The customer was building an apartment building in Broomfield Colorado and had to adjust where some of their sleeves were coming through the floor. Before core drilling the concrete the customer used ground penetrating radar to scan the concrete to be assured they were not going to strike any post tension cables or electrical conduits. Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was able to quickly mobilize and assist in this project.

The building that the contractor was working in was heavily occupied by construction traffic therefore; GPR was ideal for this project because ground penetrating radar is not harmful and does not emit any harmful radiation as with traditional x-ray. It would have been unrealistic to have other workers in the building a safe distance from the hazards associated with traditional methods. By using GPR the customer was able to perform the scans during normal business hours, and keep the other work in the building on schedule. GPRS is the new way to x-ray.

GPRS can not only locate post tension cables in occupied spaces in Broomfield, we offer other non-destructive testing such as locating utilities for boring in Colorado Springs, or mapping out rebar mats in hospitals in Denver, Colorado.
