Concrete Scanning for Beams, and Reinforcement at Sports Authority Field - Denver, CO

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. of Denver, CO was contacted by Kiewit Building Group of Englewood Colorado to locate rebar in concrete floor using concrete imaging. Kiewit needed GPRS to scan a concrete floor for reinforcement and beams so that they could drill 2 - 8” holes. The cores were needed so that new floor drains could be installed.

GPRS used a GSSI 1600 MHz Antenna to locate rebar, current and beam/wall locations. All findings were marked directly on the surface at the customer’s request for easy interpretation with pencil, white paint marker and crayon. GPR was needed for this job to keep the customer from core drilling into or through rebar ground cables or beams/walls. Ground Penetrating Radar was successful for an accurate and safe placing of the cores.
