GPRS Scans Concrete Before Core Drilling - Denver, COGround Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. of Denver, CO was contacted by MTech Mechanical Group of Westminster, CO to locate rebar at CU Boulder. The customer was looking to core drill through a concrete wall to install pipes through the wall. The customer did not wish to strike any reinforcement, possibly jeopardizing the structural integrity of the wall. GPRS, Inc. arrived on site quickly to provide concrete imaging in a professional and timely manner.

GPRS, Inc. used GSSI 1600 MHz antenna to locate the reinforcing steel inside the concrete wall. All data findings were marked directly on the surface with permanent marker on the surface for easy interpretation. GPR does not require extra time to develop films as with traditional xray. GPR emits no radiation so it is safe to use in an occupied building.
