Several AMC Theatres across the United States are undergoing a renovation to the concession and vending areas. Included in this scope of work was to saw cut a trench and to run new power and soda lines. Whenever saw cutting a concrete slab takes place, ground penetrating radar must be used. Concrete imaging a slab in Denver can locate sub surface or embedded conduits that could be struck with a saw blade.
In this case several live conduits were located and marked on the surface of the slab. A depth is able to be determined when imaging concrete, so the technician indicated a safe cutting depth on the surface as well. Ground Sonar can locate rebar, concrete thickness, conduits, wire mesh, post tension cables and sub-surface air voids.
