Concrete Imaging at Colorado University- Boulder, Colorado 1

GPRS was recently contacted by Expert Mechanical of Parker, CO to use concrete imaging to locate reinforcement and conduits at Sterns Hall, CU Boulder. The customer was involved in the remodeling of the student housing and was cutting holes in the concrete to install new shower pans. The customer wanted to make sure that they were not going to hit any conduits or rebar before core drilling the floor. Ground Penetrating Radar was able to quickly mobilize and clear the holes for drilling.

The technician was able to quickly locate reinforcement and conduits in slab. Because there are no limitations to the size of an area that can be scanned, concrete imaging was a great alternative to traditional x-ray. The technician was able to scan the whole area quickly and mark all the findings directly on the concrete for the customer without waiting for the development of films.
